A Clean and Healthy School = Student Success
The goal is to provide a safe, effective, well-maintained learning environment for all students.
To promote this goal, the International Sanitary Supply Association (ISSA) has developed The Clean Standard: K-12. The Clean Standard: K-12 is based on the philosophy of "Clean, Measure, Monitor" with an emphasis on high-performance cleaning and the standard calls for corrective actions in the event the school is not achieving the desired level of cleaning effectiveness. In order to reduce the risk of disease in schools and universities, the facility should meet certain criteria.
ATP biostrategies offers risk assessments along with a variety of solutions to validate and improve your current cleaning programs. Because schools are more susceptible to outbreaks of infectious diseases, such as influenza, colds, hepatitis B, meningitis and measles, we know the importance of being proactive when it comes to the health and well-being of your students and staff. We can help you do your part in providing a safe, effective, well-maintained learning environment for all students.
WHAT IS ATP TESTING?
Adenosine Triphosphate, or ATP, is the energy molecule found in and around all living cells, making it a perfect indicator when trying to determine if a surface is clean or dirty. The amount of ATP present on the surfaces tested can then be quantified by the amount of light emitted during the enzymatic reaction (relative light units, RLU). If the ATP detection device discovers contamination, the surface can be re-cleaned immediately and retested. The rapid nature of these devices combined with their ability to detect a wide range of common public area contaminants make them a very effective way of validating your cleaning procedures.s.
